Springcon, An apology and a new Tommy Chicago adventure!

Posted in Tommy Chicago at 5:11 pm by Administrator

Hello everyone. First of all Springcon is rapidly approaching. In fact it’s approaching this weekend, May 15th and 16th. you can find out more at www.midwestcomicbook.com Please stop by and visit, and while you’re visiting, why not pick up a copy of Tommy Chicago #4, the thrilling conclusion to the Robot Tommy Chicago storyline, with art by the always amazing Danno! Seriously it’s probably his best work so far (in my humble opinion) you can check out his website at www.staplegenius.com it’s updated waaaaay more often than this site. He’ll also be at Springcon, probably sitting somewhere near me. I’ll have all 4 issues of Tommy Chicago there, so you can catch up on any you missed, or if you’ve “missed” all 4, I’ll have a special package of all 4 issues at a special price. Special.

Now on to the apology. I did some clean up on my list of registered users. If I happened to mistake your user name as a dirty no good spammer, I apologize. There. That was easy.

Finally, here is a brand new Tommy Chicago adventure written by me and drawn by Mr. Bob Lipski, check out his website www.uptowngirlcomic.com and say hi to him at Springcon too. He’ll probably be sitting somewhere near me as well (They’re apparently the only two that can handle the smell). You should probably buy something from him too, he’s got kids. Like 17 of them.

For those of you who like background, the whole point of the story below is once upon a time in the mid to late 1800’s, there was a little book that came out, written by me with art by Danno and Bob (the guys I made sure to mention above, go visit their sites, etc, etc) starring all of our various characters in one crazy nonsensical adventure. I had a great time and you can read our thoughts on every. single. page. over at Danno’s wonderful and frequently updated website. Anyway on the back cover of the story was a super awesome pin up by Zander Cannon (even though I’ve only mentioned him once and Bob and Danno multiple times, please do not mistake this as a reflection of his awesomeness) And the pin up featured Tommy Chicago holding a gun. Now, I don’t think I’d ever mentioned this to anyone but Bob, but I had decided that Tommy Chicago would never ever use a gun. And now all of the sudden, here he is, in an incredible pin up (seriously check it out here) holding a gun. Whatever was I to do? Well I’ll tell you what I did. I waited for one day when Bob said “I’d sure like to draw Tommy Chicago again sometime.” And BAM! I gave him this story. So now you know why Tommy Chicago is holding a gun in that pin up, and my OCD is once again at rest..until the next random pinup shows up. Please enjoy

A whole TC adventure I was completely in the dark on?! Well played, gents. Well played–and FUNNY! LIke the ‘noir’ look.

Also–thanks for the kinds words re:TC#4. After #3–which was the worst work I’ve ever done–turning around and doing my “best work ever” is the least I could do.
